BEFORE & AFTER

HOW IT WORKS

Laser Genesis gently heats the upper layers of the dermis just below the skin’s surface with a patented pulse structure from the Nd:YAG 1064nm laser, which is effective on face and body, and safe for deeper complexions. A series of at least six sessions are suggested as visible results require 4-6 sessions to start.

Laser Genesis is recommended to be paired with other treatments to have a synergic effect. Improve diffused redness, mild hyperpigmentation, increase cell turnover, and stimulate collagen a process called neocollagenesis. This treatment is best paired with dermaplaning or a HydraFacial and in some cases microneedling.

Arrive with clean skin. Do not apply any lotions, creams, perfumes, powder, or makeup before your treatment session. Bearded clients should shave just prior to treatment (the pigment in your beard could increase discomfort or singe the hairs). Hair regrowth in treatment areas may be temporarily and/or permanently reduced.

Always use a daily SPF 30+ sunblock on all exposed treatment areas. Wear protective sun hats and

No sun-tanning or self-tanners four weeks prior to treatment. Includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.

Discontinue the use of active topicals such as Hydroquinone, higher strength glycolic acids, and any acne products such as those containing Salicylic Acid or Benzyl Peroxide for 72 hours and prescription Retin-A for seven days prior to treatment. Hydroquinone is encouraged prior to treatment as prescribed by your doctor.

If you are susceptible to cold sores, please notify your primary care physician prior to treatment, as cold sore eruptions can be common with light energy treatments. If you have a history of cold sores/herpes outbreaks, we recommend a prophylactic dose of a prescribed medication such as Valtrex or Acyclovir for three days prior to the treatment to help prevent an outbreak.

Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) 30 SPF or higher sunscreen to prevent further sun damage.

Bruising, redness, and swelling may occur and resolve over the next 3-5 days.

Avoid direct heat – hot tubs, saunas, etc. for 1-2 days.

Cutera’s Laser Genesis is most often described as comfortable, relaxing, and therapeutic. You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure but there is minimal to no pain at all. You can expect to return to normal daily activities with the use of sunscreen for any outdoor activities almost immediately.

Generally, a series of six treatments scheduled within 3-4 week intervals is enough to address most skin concerns. The individual treatment results are gradual and subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic especially when paired with other aesthetic treatments.

There is minimal to no downtime or side-effects associated with these treatments. The most common side-effect is a slight redness or pinkness that disappears immediately or within a few hours after the treatment.
